Stoughton Elementary School Project Plans

Stoughton Public Schools and the Elementary School Building Committee have worked in conjunction with the design team on the building design and establishing the scope of the project.

The new facility on the former Line Lumber site (off Park St.) will be planned to accommodate a larger design enrollment of 515 students as stipulated in the MSBA Design Enrollment Certification. Essentially, the 515 student design enrollment represents Stoughton’s decision to reduce from five elementary schools to four.

As a result, this plan will involve redistricting and re-drawing the elementary school district boundaries, which will happen within a year of the new school occupancy. With the process of this redistricting, the Wilkins Elementary School is the appropriate elementary school for the district to repurpose for town-wide needs such as a potential future location for the Pre-K program.

This concept has been discussed by the Building Committee, the School Committee, and presented at various public forums. For more information, click here.
